"Smooth-textured, supple and harmonious, with subtle layers of currant, spice, herb, anise and light cedary oak, ending with a graceful mix of ripe fruit and fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2013. 50,000 cases made. 90 points" Wine Spectator
Kenwood Vineyard's Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is made predominantly of fruit sourced from Estate ranches in Sonoma Valley. Each vineyard lot is kept separate throughout fermentation and aging to preserve the unique flavors of the individual vineyards that create this consistent, award-winning wine. The result is a rich, complex, and fruity wine that has flavor reminiscent of raspberry truffles. Enjoyable now, the wine in this bottle will continue to improve with age.
"Earthy and a bit dirty, with melted plastic flavors that miss the mark. Huge disappointment given this wine's previous vintages. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 2,338 cases made. 72 points" Wine Spectator
Head for the hills! The 2005 Kunde Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is the epitome of Sonoma Valley Cabernet; herbal accents of fennel and anise wrap around a core of black raspberry and black cherry flavors so typical of Kunde's rolling hills and steep mountain grape blocks. A touch of Syrah, Malbec, and Petit Syrah adds color and richness to the wine - we'll break with the French blending tradition if it reveals the best of our land and its fruit! This fabulous wine was crafted using 80% hillside fruit. Grill some smoky pork chops stuffed with apples and gorgonzola, open a bottle of Kunde Estate Cabernet, and impress your mouth.
