Schramsberg Brut Rose is flavorful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an aperitif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown in Carneros, Anderson Valley, and the Sonoma and Marin coastal areas. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this unique sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.
"There's a slight grain to the texture and this bubbly is all the better for it, lending a pleasing assertiveness to the peach, candied citrus, spice and graphite notes. It's all backed by a firm acidity and a chalky finish. Drink now through 2010. 91 points" Wine Spectator
"A brash, fruity style, with cherry, strawberry and toast flavors. Assertive, with fine texture and intensity. Excellent length. Try with shellfish in a cream sauce. Drink now through 2009. 5,000 cases made. 90 points" Wine Spectator
"Generous, mature flavors make this brut substantive. Full-bodied, ripe and complex, with a plush texture and lingering finish. Drink now. 89 points" Wine Spectator
